Dancing Leaves
swirling around held by the vivacious beat
dipping and weaving a honey rainbowsome throw caution to the wind
and let themselves goothers cling to the sidelines
looking green daggers
cackle and cracklesthe movers have their eyes closed
free falling in the melodic air
POET IN RESIDENCE
Newcastle based poet Sheree Mack was festival poet-in-residence, from Thursday 13 - Sunday 16 October this year. During her residency at Fowlers Yard Artists' Studios, Back Silver Street, Durham, the public were invited to call in and meet her, and chat about writing and Sheree offered to write a poem on whatever topic you might choose.
She has very generously offered us this poem which she created during her residency, saying "I suppose it's to go with this beautiful season we are enjoying now."
